South East League 2011

SOUTH EAST LEAGUE RULES, 2011
1. Nine teams to be divided by lot into two groups; Group A of 5 teams and Group B of 4 teams
2. Each group to play 4 matches with home team in group A not playing at home and group B to decide on pairings for 4th round. Later this was decided by draw.
3. All Matches are foursomes Match play format and each team shall consist of 3 Jimmy Bruen and 3 Pierce Purcell matches.
4. In each match 2 points will be awarded for a win and 1 point for a draw.
5. The same pair can only play together twice but may play a third time in the final or in the section play off.
6. The winners of Section A will play the winners of Section B at a neutral venue. The final shall consist of 3 Jimmy Bruen and 3 Pierce Purcell matches.
7. No practising on the course will be allowed on the day of the matches.
8. Any local rules or conditions that operate at the match venue on the day will also be in force for the South East league matches.
9. In the event of the two teams having an equal amount of points at the top of the Section Table after completion of the matches, the outcome will be decided by a sudden death match play between a nominated Jimmy Bruen pair from each side. The host club should organise to have a Bruen pairing on standby for such an event if necessary.
10. In the event of a tie in the final, each club shall nominate a Bruen pairing to go down the nineteenth. This pair need not be nominated before the original match takes place.
11. The host club will have someone available to interpret the rules.
12. A fee of €35 per team to cover cost of Final is payable and may be paid at the first venue. Monies collected to be forwarded to East Cork GC.
13. The final is fixed for East Cork Golf Club (provisional) on Sunday 17th April. In the event of Mitchelstown qualifying for final the venue to be decided by finalists / coordinator.
14. A club shall be penalised with disqualification from the following years competition if it:
a. Fails to attend any on of it’s fixture during the current year of the league.
b. Fails to notify the organising committee prior to that fixture taking place.
15. Special circumstance may exempt the club from this penalty.
