Hole 17

A fairly short downhill Par 4. A fairway bunker on the right 200 metres from the tee makes for a very narrow landing area; however carry the bunker and the ball will kick on down the slope leaving just a short approach. The green is not designed to accept long irons; taking on the fairway bunker to leave a short iron approach will be a significant advantage.

The cambered green is a difficult target, just 20 metre deep protected by a deep greenside bunker front right and a series of hollows and swales surrounding the remainder of the green. If a good length drive is not forthcoming and a long iron to the green required, the low trajectory of the ball combined with the afore-mentioned depth of the green means there is little chance of stopping the ball on the green surface. Long iron approaches are more than likely going to be rolling through the green down the steep surround back and right.
